SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION
In an article written in 2004, there was information about what was then considered the most valuable record in existence, a recording made by the Quarrymen before they were the Beetles. The song is called "In Spite of All the Danger". Songwriting credit is claimed by Paul McCartney and George Harrison. McCartney has admitted it was influenced by an early Elvis song, but has never named a specific song. Several musicologists though have identified the song as "Trying to Get to You", written by the songwriting team of Rose Marie McCoy and Charlie Singleton, two black songwriters who have had their legacies nearly forgotten. I say, "Time to own up, Paul. You've got the money; you've got the glory."
